Casa de San Pedro

Situated in the San Pedro River Valley about 5 miles north of the border with Mexico, Casa de San Pedro has everything a birder could want in a B&B. In addition to their beautiful rooms and excellent breakfast, they have a top notch feeder setup that is perfect for watching and photographing birds at any time of day. An astonishing 236 species of birds have been documented on the property! Virtually all of the best birding destinations in the Sierra Vista area, including the famous canyons of the Huachuca Mountains, are within a 15-30 minute drive from the house. If you’re in the area be sure to check out this gem of Southeastern Arizona birding and lodging.

Rancho Santa Cruz

Rancho Santa Cruz is a charming and historic B&B nestled right along the Santa Cruz River in Tumacacori. With comfortable rooms in an old west flavor, a delicious ranch style breakfast, and excellent birding on the grounds, it really is the whole package. Feeders are scattered about the property but the real draw here is the mature cottonwood-willow woodland complete with trails accessed from the ranch. 165 species of birds recorded here in eBird is an indication of its richness. Birding destinations in the Santa Rita Mountains and along the I-19 corridor down to Nogales and over to Patagonia are all readily accessed from here.

Ramsey Canyon Inn

Surrounded by pristine pine-oak woodland and tucked beneath a towering canopy of sycamores alongside a serene mountain creek, Ramsey Canyon Inn is ideal for birders looking to base in one of the areas most famous upper elevation birding sites. A stay here comes complete with a gourmet breakfast (great pie!) and truly awesome birding right outside your door. Feeders on all sides of the inn and in several places within Ramsey Canyon Preserve (right next door) have brought in 14 species of hummingbirds and at least 183 species of birds have been found in the direct vicinity over the years. Birding hotspots elsewhere in the Huachuca Mountains and San Pedro River Valley are just a short drive down the hill from here.
