My birding outing with Nolan W in Southeast Arizona was awesome! He took the time in advance to understand what I was looking for to plan the day and when we got there he was very knowledgeable and had a fun experience going to spots I wouldn’t have found myself. Found the most birds that day of my whole trip, would highly recommend!"

I booked two days of half-day guiding, one with Zeke and one with Jake. Both of them were amazing guides and helped me see multiple life birds that I had been targeting for this trip. Zeke guided me and two friends around Madera Canyon, Sahuarita, and Tubac. He was great, personable, and put us on so many birds that we were targeting for that trip. He developed an itinerary based on the birds that my friends and I were targeting and helped us find so many from that list. He is so knowledgeable about the birds in the area and it was an amazing experience to bird and learn from him. Jake guided me and my dad around Miller Canyon the next day. He has an extremely good ear, and was able to detect birds by sound before I could hear the call or get on the bird with my binos. One thing that really sets Jake apart is that he is so knowledgeable about the area - not only did we learn so much about birds, but also about the ecology of the area, reptiles, butterflies, plants, and more. I would highly recommend both Zeke and Jake and plan to use ABG again for my next AZ trip.

The four days I went birding with Dorian were truly fantastic! The effort he spent to show me around went above and beyond what I initially planned or expected. The whole trip was seamless and well-organized. We covered many different habitats day and night. The vast array of birds and general wildlife we encountered was amazing, as were the non-birding sites we visited. Dorian is an outstanding guide: knowledgeable, flexible, friendly, and extremely professional. I had so much fun! Thank you very much!

Excellent birding experience from start to finish! We started planning this trip about 8 months ago and began conversations about what would be possible for our stay near Glacier National Park in Montana. We finalized the guide details a week or so before hand and finished our one day birding trip today with Jake. It was great! We had a target list but also a number of birds that we rarely see or hear. We saw a lot of birds and had great conversations along the way. Thanks for a great birding experience!

Birded with Alex Patia a couple of days and it was wonderful, Alex is a very skilled guide and can put you on the birds, everything about him was very professional and he always had good suggestions about where/how to see new birds for me, couldn’t recommend him and this business any higher.

Lucky you if Kadynn is your guide. His knowlegde of local birds and his birding skills are amazing. He obviously loves his job and and his enthusiasm is contageous. I have some mobility issues and he was quickly able to guage my limits and put together a plan for our 3 days together that resulted in an excellant haul of hard to get new species. I appreciate that he was able to put together accurate ebird lists for our outings without it being a distraction while we were in the field.

I was on a short visit to the Phoenix area and had an open morning, just enough time squeeze in some birdwatching. I found ABT on the internet and they immediately responded with a plan that was great for my needs. Felipe picked me up at 5:00am and we had a good morning introducing me to many of the local birds and some migrants as well. Everything worked well and I would certainly recommend them.

Had a fantastic experience with Arizona Birding Tours. We initially reached out and worked with Felipe to come up with a multi-day itinerary that would allow us to thoroughly explore SE Arizona. Felipe was incredibly helpful coming up with a game plan and very flexible around our ever changing schedule, and we ended up finalize a great 6 day itinerary that would allow us to explore the region, see a huge variety of species, and go owling. Felipe paired us with Zeke, one of the company's guides, and we had such a great time with him over our 6 days. Zeke truly knows Arizona like the back of his hand, especially when it comes to birding and where to go to see target species. I've truly never met anyone who is as passionate or skilled at birding/being a guide. Overall, strongly recommend working with Arizona Birding Tours.

We had a wonderful time birding with Jake Thompson of Arizona Birding Guides on May 10, 2025. We were in the Patagonia area of Arizona. Jake is very passionate about birding. He made sure that we saw a very large number of bird species. He knows where to find the birds and can identify them based on sight and sounds. He helped us sort out the confusing species of flycatchers. And he went above and beyond, going off-roading on a very interesting route to find the elusive Mexican Jay and Arizona Woodpecker. Jake was very enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with us. We learned a lot in our one day venture. To top it all off, Jake is a genuinely nice guy! If you have a chance to go birding with Jake, I highly recommend you do so.

I was lucky enough to bird two half-days with Ezekiel Dobson. He's a fantastic young birder with exceptional hearing and a keen eye. He was conversant, but not overly so, and found lots of birds for us, including two lifers for me -- Bendire's Thrasher and Rosy-faced Lovebird. I highly recommend him as a guide and hope to bird with him again, next time in the Tucson area.

Zeke combines a great ear with fantastic local knowledge. Got us on the birds I wanted to see and we had fun doing it. Even on the way home for the day somehow coaxed a Scaled Quail out of a trailer park! Highest recommendation. This is the second time I have used AZ Birding Guides and both have been epic.

Fantastic knowledgeable guides who went out of their way to get me on the birds I wanted to see. Everything went well and I was able to get a dozen lifers in just 2 days.

What an amazing experience! Kadynn was my bird guide and Wow, talk about bird expert. This was next level birding. His ability to locate birds and then direct your eyes to them is just amazing. I dont know the exact number, but we must've seen nearly 60 different species of birds. He kept count of them in his head the whole time and even knew if we had seen the same bird. Just incredible. We even ran into a Big Year birder and did some birding with them. Incredible day, incredible journey. Worth every penny. Would do this again in a heartbeat!

My daughter and I went to Southeast Arizona in April 2025. We were assigned to Jake Thompson as our guide. He contacted me before our trip to find out what birds we were interested in seeing. He customized 3 full days of birding for us. Jake is friendly, easy going, energetic, flexible and is so well rounded in his knowledge.We learned so much about not only birds and their behavior, but also trees, plants, bugs, and other critters. His laser like eyesight and hearing yielded us so many birds that we didn't notice, He would mention a bird he saw and say, "Ladderback Woodpecker in the scope!". We were so impressed with the number and variety of birds we were able to see and hear. After the first day, we became more observant as well. The first day yielded over 101 species! Most were lifers for us! We appreciated the attention he gave to our 3 days and plan to return for a fall migration. We will request Jake again!

We were really happy with our guide, Alex. He was very knowledgeable and personable and he put us on a lot of birds. He has great depth of knowledge about birds that he shares, but not in a show-off or obnoxious manner. We plan to use this business again!

Ezekiel was an excellent guide. He is highly knowledgeable. His enthusiasm is contagious. He is very responsive. I highly recommend him for experienced or beginner birders.

Arizona Birding Guides delivered all the goods!! Planning was spot-on and the guides were uber professional. All species that I requested were found and seen/heard. Both Aaron G. And Kadynn were spectacular in ID and getting me on the birds. I would not hesitate to go with the company or either of these exceptional guides.

My husband and I recently drove to Tucson for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I am a new birder and decided we should hire guides for 2 mornings of our trip. Nate took us to Madera Canyon. He was a fantastic guide, taking us up and down the canyon, pointing out so many species, migrants and AZ natives, really spending time with us. John took us up Mt. Lemmon pointing out more amazing birds the next morning, including nesting Harris's Hawks, which was a special treat for my falconer hubby. These two guides were very different, but each did a fantastic job. We saw 150+ species over 2 days, and I got at least 50 lifers! We could not have been happier with our guides on this trip. Ezekiel Dobson was our guide A fantastic birder and very personable. We had a target list he located virtually all of the birds. He knew where and when and all the vocalizations. Interaction with management was extremely smooth.
